The start of the movie

I'm the luckiest girl in the world and our kids are the luckiest kids in the world - because Jake is the love of my life and their daddy! We will be in Haiti on Father's Day so I thought we should celebrate early (squeeze it in to our packed week, but make it special was the intent). My husband is the most un-materialistic man that I know. His desire for things is zero. He is so happy for others when they get something they want; but will quickly say, "but don't get me one". Well, he has thought it would be cool to have a truck for about 6 years (maybe 2 mentions of it, but would never actually go get it). About 2 months ago he was talking about a truck a friend's dad had gotten and he just loved it; his favorite truck he's seen he said. Over the next few weeks he made about 5 comments about this truck. Not too strange for some of us; but super out of the norm for my hubby. So we had a plan!!! The kids and I went to the dealership while he was doing some interviews one evening this week. We checked them out and picked our favorite ones and negotiated a great price. So Saturday we planned a surprise father's day. The kids led him into the living room, gave him a card that said we are taking you on a 15 minute drive. They put an orange blindfold on him and led him to the car. We drove to the dealership and told him to take off his blindfold and we all yelled, "pick out your truck!" I couldn't believe all the kids had kept such a great secret. So we looked, played and he decided on the pearl white one! The kids and I came home to set up the drive-in in our driveway (with a big blow up screen we borrowed). Daddy made it home to watch the movie and have some dinner and popcorn and Juju and Grandad came by to watch the show with us too! It took so long to buy the truck we just set up blankets and daddy told us we could start the show. The kids loved it all; especially their 11 pm bedtime.
Jake, I'm crazy about you! You make me laugh, you are truly my best friend and the love of my life. Thank you for loving us like Jesus!!!! Our kids are so blessed to have a daddy that is so fun, loves their mommy like mad, loves them more than anything in the world, but most of all leads us in pursuit of our King!!!!! Happy Father's Day - I love you more!
Deut. 6: 1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 3 Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
