With our friend Victor
The fruit at the market was the best
Don't know what this thing actually is but the kids and guys had a competition who could get the highest
Barrett won but his glasses in his pocket were not so lucky
Part of the boys in the after school soccer program Dan and Barrett shared with - after they shared Pastor Washington had a word of knowledge for one of them and they all got saved!
It was fashion week in Sao Paulo - just think NY - Stacy and I got stopped and interviewed about our take on fashion - we did get to share the gospel, as well as tell them the unitard spandex workout suit we saw a girl in at the mall is not OK! We laughed we were not looking too stylish - must have been the Brazilian flip flops!
Some of the kids coloring in the lobby during a team time
Preslee writing in her journal
Baby Breece was a hit with the Hartsock kids - if she was ever fussy they just knew they could make her smile
These two crashed on a family's sofa we were ministering to one night - they missed some very interesting events;-)
Nathan and Carmen - favorites of the kids
Preslee with some of the beautiful children in the mountain community
This was the backseat of our compact vehicle one day!
Christian and Diane were our car buddies - they were so much help with our kids-
love these two! (not sure what Brax is doing but when I saw this I thought - that is what I was thinking;-)
Miss Carmen - a favorite of big and little peeps alike
She taught the kids some silly summer camp songs on the long rides -
So thankful for her!
The boys found some familiar snacks a few days in - Pretzels and cheetos
Beautiful girls - Preslee loves being with Jade and Jade is so patient and kind to her
A sample of one of the spreads they had for us everywhere we went
This is a look at one of the kids life groups we went to - one hundred kids
The boys praying for kids
One of the many homes packed with people worshipping
Our sweet girl with here homemade kite - her feet were filthy everyday - each night she would take her flip flops into the shower with her and scrub them down!
Playing soccer with a little friend - this little guy took us into his home and showed us all his stuff - we never figured out where his momma was - maybe at the prayer meeting?
Brax loved the handmade kites too
Teaching the kids english - they were all excited to learn
Every service we were at, was packed standing room only - this was a family's garage they have given up to have their life group pack into several times a week
I'm blogging so that means the laundry is finished and we are back in full swing! There is so much I could blog about but I don't know if words would even do it justice. I have given up trying to make this chronological so I will just try to tell a story with some pics. We could sum it up by saying, "no one on our team will ever be the same!" We walked into Revival in Sao Paulo and God was so gracious to use us powerfully while teaching us so much. The church there treated us like royalty - they served us without end! It felt like we were truly living out Acts 2 - they are literally planting hundreds of churches a year, dependent on the spirit and in the hardest places in the city. We are so thankful for our new friends - God truly knit our hearts together in an amazing way! Also, so proud of and thankful for our team - the late nights (often out until 1 or 2 am doing ministry) and sometimes we even had all the kids with us - troopers! Pressing in when they got sick or just needed a break and they got to see God move powerfully. Wow - did I say God is so good!?!
Acts 2:42-47 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
