Kooper and Shawn
Our cute kids cuddling after splashing around!
We love going to down town Oklahoma City. When I was in high school (OK, so it has been a few years - 14 to be exact) it was so dirty and maybe 2 restaurants you would choose to eat at; they have really cleaned it up though. We had Koop's party early b/c family was going to be out of town and we were traveling for almost 2 straight weeks directly afterwards. So we made a fun family trip downtown to eat, play and let the kids do the splash park - I actually brought their suits with us to their surprise! While at the splash park I struck up conversation (I know shocker:)with a guy sitting on a bench watching the kids play. Come to find out Shawn had been living on the streets for a week and Jake was able to jump in and totally minister to this guys heart and pray for him. Our kids were playing this entire time and when Kooper came over he asked why dad was praying for that man. I told him that the man had no money or home and we were able to share Jesus with him. Kooper went over slowly to his bag and pulled out a little blue coin bag. Unzipped it and pulled out a $20 bill he had received for his b-day (that left him with .79 cents). Having never met Shawn he boldly walked over and said, "Here, you need this more than I do!" Wow! He gets it! Don't know if I have ever been more proud of him!2 Corinthians 9:6-10 Who ever sows sparingly, also reaps sparingly. Who ever gives generously, will reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you; so you will have every need met.
