India

On June 14th Jake and I traveled to India to spend two weeks loving people and telling them of the hope they can have in Jesus. It was life changing and amazing to see God moving there. Here are a few of our favorite stories from the trip. Some we have emailed out so you may have already heard a few of them. There was so much poverty that it broke our hearts. I am thoroughly convinced that God uses our gifting to serve Him if we are submitted to Him and He used my shopping gift (don't think that one is on the spiritual gifting list) to feed and clothe the sweet children there. We were amazed by the eagerness of the people to hear the gospel and the many great conversations we had about it. We met three guys at the cell phone store who were very hungry and we were able to share the gospel several times with them and get them Bibles; we are praying God will continue to reveal Himself in full to them as they read His word and will stir their hearts as they discuss the treasure they have found together. We did treasure hunting many days there where we wait on the Lord for pictures or words; often names and weird pics. God is so amazing how He wants to speak if we will take the time and just ask and listen. One day a guy got a pic of a peacock, another guy had the name Amed, and the word of knowledge of pain in his knee. That night as we went to dinner we saw a store with 2 peacocks on either side of the store name. We went inside and the girls started looking around and 3 guys started talking to what seemed to be the owner of the store his name Mohamed - long for Amed. When they asked if he had pain in his knee he was stunned and asked how they knew. They were able to tell them about Jesus and how He speaks to us and they believe He wanted to heal him and reveal Himself to him. He agreed to let them pray for him. It is amazing how God desires to make Himself known in all of the earth. Another store we met three men who were so hungry for the truth. We told them that the religion they followed many people were having dreams of Jesus telling them to come to Himself. They asked us to pray for them and that they would have a dream that night. The next day when we stopped by one of them said he had a dream and it was not Jesus but he thought it was from him. He said it was the most peaceful water he had ever seen but when he reached for it he could not touch it and woke up. When he woke up he knew Jesus was real and that at that moment he was reminded of all the people he had wronged and how he needed to make things right. His kindness truly brings us to repentance. They asked many questions, we gave them Bibles and some of our friends gave them a children's Bible which they enjoyed very much and it simplified things for them. They asked what the needed to do to follow Jesus and right there they all 3 prayed to receive Jesus and make Him Lord of their lives. It was so great to be a part of what God is doing in India.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3
