Ethiopian coffee we gave to our parents with John 14:18 on it so they can pray when they see it
Preslee wanted to make a sign for the baby so we tried to draw Africa with a heart on Ethiopia!
Her first attempt to write the baby a message - she said, this is her name:-) I said what if it's a boy and she said, then it will not be his name:-)
So if you haven not heard from us or through the grapevine - we are getting a baby! We have been working hard to bring this sweet one home. We have known for years (ok maybe, I have - but Jake for months) that God had a baby for our family that didn't come out of my womb. He had definitely burdened my heart for the nations and specifically the orphan. Last January we began to pray about what God had for our family sensing we were not done. I mean our sweet four seem like 12 sometimes:-) But you just know when God is up to something. He taught me to stop talking about it and just pray and wait for Jake to just know! I was basically praying for a dream or audible voice of God to speak - He chose just to whisper and turn Jake's eyes and heart toward adoption. As we began researching our choices we were just sure about Ethiopia! I got a pre-packet filled out in one night and ready to mail in but it stayed on my night stand for almost two months. The peace of God was not there to move ahead. Then I was talking to a mom in Sutton's class the first week of school and she told me of them adopting a little girl from Ethiopia and their agency. I got on the Internet that night and I yelled at Jake - "This is our agency" - God knew our baby was supposed to come from this agency! So the past few months have been filled with paper work, finger prints and phone calls preparing us to get one step closer to bringing home our baby next year. We look forward to updating you on the progress and can't wait to get a number as soon as our background checks come in so we can finish our dossier. Our kids are more than ready and we eagerly wait - but while we wait we still have lots of work to do!
