Sweet little girl at the well
Koop helping them pump their water
Different members of our team had pictures of wells or things to do with wells for several days - so on our 3rd day running; when given the name of 3 options of places we should go we quickly knew THE WELL was that place for us. When we arrived we were a bit surprised to not find a tent city but an actual well. It was in cross roads between several of the cities we were reaching out to. The world cup game was on in a tent so we met everyone around that was not watching the game. God quickly sent a young girl to some of the girls on our team. She told them her awful story and they prayed for her. The Holy Spirit invaded her little body, she received Jesus and asked them to walk down so that she could tell her grandma - just down the road - which ended up being quite a little hike. All of her family was gathered and they got to share the gospel with them and she was baptized there. When the game concluded many men and women came out and set while 2 of our awesome girls shared the story of the cross. They asked that anyone wanting to know more move over to another area and 2 men unashamedly left their friends to find out more about Jesus and gave their lives to Him! Jake had gotten quite ill that morning and we were so glad he pressed thru and went with us - God told him to. He was able to meet with the leader of the area that was upset with translators that had been there previously and promised something that they had not followed thru with. When they found out Jake was Blake's brother they were immediately friends (they loved Blake and Eric from their trip last month). Jake was able to walk thru forgiveness with them and they said clean slate. He said call me and I will have 40 people gathered for you. The team has now followed up with the well and God is continuing to build His church there!!!
John 4:10-14 10Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.11"Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"13Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
